The Familia Speakeasy

Honoring the past, toasting the future at John’s Liquor. Nearly every community has a business that serves as a linchpin, connecting people to one another, to its happenings, and to it’s history. John’s Liquor Store is one such landmark in Falmouth, an ever-important third place, outside the home and work, where people can convene, socialize, and exchange ideas.

This year, Mark Ferreira is leaning into that concept with the opening of The Familia. A speakeasy-style tasting room that is connected to the store. “This store has been in my family since 1937,” he says. An experience in the store to have it be more of the community, something other than a liquor store.
